Family Engagement Training
To support family engagement across the borough we are holding a family engagement forum on February 28th at Warren Junior School if you would like to attend please book using the form below.
Attendance:
- Tracked and monitored regularly so that issues are picked up quickly.
- Free Breakfast club for those children with poor attendance, also used to provide extra teaching if necessary.
Support:
- LA attendance and Admissions
Nurture:
- Trauma and Attachment informed schools: Structured lunchtimes.
- Thrive programme.
- PSHE supports focus on Mental Health and wellbeing, encouraging emotional literacy through teaching children a language to discuss their needs/feelings.
- Vulnerable children prioritised for residential trips and day trips. Nurture groups.
- Evaluating impact of Discipline practise on CWSW, remembering that their point of greatest challenge is also their point of greatest need.
Academic support:
- Programmes such as Accelerated Reader and Star Reader,
- Staff wide teacher training an emphasis on high aspirations for all children coupled with excellent classroom practice.
